It has been quite stormy lately in my country. Especially the lighter objects in our garden (like garden chairs, plant pots) have been thrown all over the place. At other times we have nasty rainstorms. Now, stuff like this can happen during winter, but apparently, it's so bad now, that parts of the inner city has been bothered by rising waterlevels. To give you an idea how bad it is, here are some pics:

While it doesn't endanger my house (as I don't live in the inner city), if it becomes worse, it may endanger our store. Thankfully, the city is prepared for such situations, by offering free sandbags and apparently in the main street we have a nifty system where they can slide in wooden panels, to prevent the water from getting into the buildings.

I can't really recall a time we had it this bad before. It makes you realise that living in a country below sea level really can be a big deal still, even in an era where we have highly advanced technology to battle the water. Doesn't help either that my city is technically an island as well =P

yes I LOVE all the cool stuff we do to prevent the country from being the newest part of the North Sea! it's so cool <3 /nerd.

Also, while city core is correct, isn't inner city better? ;)

Yay for technology! Just like that insane idea to build a mountain in the sea. Also, inner city it is!
